BrainToken ("we," "us," or "our") makes an iOS app that helps children ages 2–14 earn screen time by completing short educational exercises. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. It applies to the BrainToken app and the website at braintokens.app.
BrainToken is designed to keep your child's information local. The following is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us:
- ✓Exercise progress, scores, streaks and token balances.
- ✓Child profile names and ages you enter during setup.
- ✓Your app-gating choices, daily caps and parent PIN.
Because this data lives on the device, deleting the app removes it. We cannot recover it for you.
BrainToken uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time APIs to lock and unlock the apps you choose. These permissions are handled entirely by iOS. We do not receive, store, or transmit the contents of any locked app or your child's activity inside it — we only know whether your earned-time balance is enough to unlock an app you selected.
We do not collect contact information, precise location, browsing history, contacts, photos, or device advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that profile your child. We show no ads.
BrainToken is built to be COPPA-conscious. Because we don't collect personal information from children and all learning data stays on the device, there is nothing for us to monetize, share, or expose. A parent or guardian sets up the app and controls it with a private PIN.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your full payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
If we ever change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
